Historian Eleni Kyramargiou is working with the high schools of Keratsini-Drapetsona to study objects that refugees from Asia Minor brought with them when they came to Greece in the 1920s, and she is also developing a digital humanities project on the cultural legacies of the Greek-Turkish war. This project aims to promote awareness of local heritage by encouraging students to document material culture through video, photography, and oral history.
In the summer of 2020, SNFPHI summer grantee and recent M.A. recipient in Oral History Carlin Zia is collaborating with Eleni to create an online oral history exhibition for high school students participating in Fleeing Objects.
