Zine Workshop: Making the Book of Markos

Zine Workshop: Making the Book of Markos

Cine-Manto, Mykonos Town
19 █ June █ 2026
15 █ 00 - 19 █ 00

After a year of recording the memories of people who lived on Delos as the children of farmers and guards, we are turning their stories into a small informal book, collectively produced. On Friday, June 19, 2026, in the garden of the Cine-Manto summer cinema, Boulouki is organizing a workshop where participants will collaboratively create a zine — an informal collective publication — that tells the story of the Farmhouse of Markos and, through it, the longer story of how archaeology and rural life coexisted on the island of Delos.

The garden tables will be filled with historical photographs and maps, newspaper clippings and architectural drawings, transcribed interview excerpts, as well as stationery and craft supplies. A typewriter and a small photocopier — the tools that have accompanied zine-making since its inception — will also be available, so that together we can create “The Book of Markos” in just a few hours.

The workshop is open to participants of the Mykonos Municipality Arts Program (KDEPAM), who will work alongside “Delians” — Mykonians with family ties to Delos — as well as members and collaborators of the Boulouki group.
