This project sheds light on women’s history in Soufli, a town in northern Greece known for its silk production. Aristotle University’s Laboratory of Narrative Research in collaboration with students from the Department of English Literature will conduct interviews and research Soufli’s past. The collected materials will serve as the basis for a podcast, educational workshops, an online exhibition, and a public presentation. The project’s goal is to document a women’s history of Soufli, so often lost in male-centered accounts of the town’s industrial past, in order to make it an essential part of its present and facilitate reflection on the local past by younger generations.
